A Florida Beach House Tour

Several years ago, we embarked on making a few changes to our home.  Three years later, we found ourselves with almost a brand new home!  Our renovation included:  painting the entire interior & exterior of our home, adding one new bathroom, gutting our other 3 bathrooms, added walk in closets to 2 of our bedrooms, turned our front porch in to a foyer, turned an office into a master closet, gutted and expanded our kitchen & laundry room and redesigned the exterior.  And finished just in time to host our oldest son's rehearsal dinner for his wedding the beginning of June!  Whew!

Our home is nestled in Atlantic Beach, Florida just a few steps from the beach, in the Oceanwalk subdivision.  Oceanwalk is a beach side community with over 250 homes and is a quick bike ride away from the Beaches Town Center ~ a collection of fun shops and amazing restaurants.

My husband and I bought an empty lot in 1990, and constructed our new home.  Our first child was 6 months old, when we moved in.  19 years later we knew it was time for a refresh (actually way past time!).

I hope you enjoy a tour of our newly renovated home!

The front view of our house became almost like a "jungle" (see before pic below).  Over time, trees and bushes covered almost the entire front view of our home.
One of best improvements we made was to clear out our "jungle" and put in a circular drive.  Not only are you now able to see our home, the circular drive allowed us to comfortably park all of our cars.

Driveway Pavers:  Belgard  Dublin Cobble Pavers.  Wooden Shutters:  Archetectural Depot.  Exterior Paint Color:  Benjamin Moore White Dove.

Front Doors ~ Entry

Our new front doors are my favorite part of the remodel.  We choose Solid Pine Knotty Adler Custom Doors with wrought iron grills.  Mexican Tile border around the doors are Catalina Tiles from Latin Accent Tiles.

Foyer

The entryway/foyer is all new.  Previously it was our front porch.  I found the perfect cabinets for the area, and added framed photos to personalize the space.

Gallery Wall

Our gallery wall is a collection of old and new family photos ~ a mixture of eclectic custom and store bought frames.  This is one of my favorite places in the house.

This is a full shot of our entryway, dining room & gallery wall.

Dining Room

The dining room furniture I have had forever!  I've slip covered the chairs many times over the years, which has been much cheaper than replacing the dining room set :).

Hallways

This hallway leads from our den to what was our playroom, which is now my husband’s office.  We didn't need a playroom any more ~ our kids are all grown up now!

My Daughter's Room

My daughter decorated her room, all by herself :).  I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, and thought her room turned out beautiful!  She wanted a white and tiffany blue room, with a beachy feel.  She created a gallery wall with a variety of teal and white cottage frames.
