DIY: Springtime Easter Bunny Banner

The tails are as cute as a button!?! A flower with a little button in the middle. It makes me smile.

The white paper with all the words was inspired by one my past projects. This time I thought of springy words and typed them into a document. I used various fonts and printed it on regular white printer paper. You could use book pages, music sheets, printed or patterned scrap book paper. There are so many possibilities. I specifically wanted words that made me think of spring.

The materials I used to make this banner were cardstock paper, scrap book paper, white printer paper, hole puncher, flower puncher, buttons, scissors, glue, and ribbon.

Okay…let’s hop to it…

Here’s my Springtime Easter Bunny Banner Tutorial:

I drew a side profile of a bunny (free hand). I traced it onto a cardstock paper and cut it out. This was my template for the SMALLER bunny. I then drew a slightly bigger bunny around the smaller bunny onto a cardstock paper and cut it out. This was my template for the BIGGER bunny.

Using the bigger bunny template, I traced and cut out bunnies from green cardstock papers and also yellow cardstock papers.

Using the smaller bunny template, I traced and cut out bunnies from my printed spring words papers.

To make the bunny tails – I used a flower puncher and made two different colors using scrap book paper. I glued the yellow and pink flowers together. Half of the flowers had the pink paper on top. The other half had the yellow paper on top. To add depth, I also folded the petals. And last but not least, I glued on a button in the middle of each flower.

To make the bunnies -  I glued the white bunnies with the spring words onto the cardstock paper bunnies. I then punched a hole into each bunny ear (using a hole puncher). I glued a flower on each bunny positioning it so it looked like the bunny’s tail! The last step was sticking the ribbon through the ear holes.

That’s it. Now I have this sweet springtime Easter bunny banner.
